Located in the heart of Downtown Chicago, Italian Village is home to three restaurants, each with its own chef, menu specialties and unique ambiance. As the oldest Italian restaurant in the city, Italian Village is a third generation family business focused on traditional values and the highest standards of service.

The Italian Village has an extensive wine program with over 1,200 selections for a total of more than 25,000 bottles. Boasting one of the largest restaurant-based wine cellars in the Midwest, the wine list spans the globe with a strong Italian focus, receiving awards from Wine Spectator for 30 consecutive years. The wine book will give you an in depth concentration of Italian wines from all of the different soil types and climates that Italy has to offer. The Cellar in the Sky serves all three restaurants to help you find that perfect bottle of wine!

Opened in 1927, The Village is Italian Village's original restaurant. Take a trip up the stairs to Tuscany at the turn of the century and experience the beating heart of the Italian Village. Enjoy traditional Northern Italian specialties prepared by Chef Jose Torres as you dine under the twilight skies of a recreated Tuscan village. On your way out, pause to examine the portraits of the celebrities, dignitaries and athletes that have dined with the Capitanini family since 1927.

The Village features authentic Italian favorites including eggplant parmigiana, cannelloni, manicotti, veal saltimbocca scallopine and fettuccine alfredo. Whether seated under the twinkling “stars” of the Tuscan night sky, or in one of the many themed booths, like “La Banca” (the Bank) or “La Prigione” (the Jail, where Al Capone is rumored to have dined), guests are able to take a veritable culinary tour of the different regions of Italy. Alfredo Capitanini’s original creation, Chicken Vesuvio, has made its way onto the menus of Italian Restaurants the world over!

Located on the main floor, Vivere allows you to experience regional contemporary Italian cuisine in a setting that is both luxurious and whimsical. Developed by world-renowned designer, Jordan Moser, Vivere features curvy, swirling architectural lines, brass fixtures and stained glass. The room itself lends a theatrical quality to the dining experience perfect for those guests about to attend a show in one of the area’s many theaters.

Thanks to the culinary expertise of Executive Chef Ozzy Amelotti, Vivere pays homage to the classic dishes and traditions of the past by interpreting them through the lens of modern trends and techniques.

La Cantina has all of the charm and intrigue of a nobleItalian family’s private wine cellar, while remaining cozy and bustling. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with wrought iron gates, decades old wine bottles and wooden wine crates.

Chef Salvador Liberato focuses on bringing you the “Village Classics” that have been mainstays on the menu for over half a century, as well as steak and chop specialties.
