Marge's Still has been a neighborhood destination since 1885 and is one of the oldest running taverns in Chicago. Featuring American cuisine with an old-world scene, we are proudly located in the historic Old Town Triangle District on the corner of Sedgwick and Menomonee.

Not even Prohibition could stop the serving of libations at this location. Openly serving drinks since the 19th century, Marge’s became a literal underground speakeasy. Bathtub gin was prepared on the second floor and sold in the cellar, with guests entering through the side stairwell. As times change, so have the interior and façade. Marge's once sported stained glass lighting fixtures, pinball machines, an upright piano, and barely any windows.

Today, the bar has been restructured into a restaurant, with a menu ranging from pub fare to bistro entrees. A far cry from its boisterous predecessor, Marge’s Still is an open and airy place to drink, dine and enjoy time with friends. The only thing remaining from its inception is the antique wooden bar.

Stop in and experience a bit of Chicago history while enjoying great food, your favorite drink and friendly service!
