Grant Park / Art Institute Tour
Audio Introduction
Grant Park is one of the “forever free and open” spaces envisioned by Daniel Burnham -- famed architect and city planner -- for Chicago back in 1909. Today it remains one of Chicago’s main gathering places, and is the site of many of the city’s summer festivals, including Blues Fest, Taste of Chicago, and Lollapalooza.
Grant Park is known for its beautiful green spaces along the lakefront, with manicured gardens and walkways. While this tour only highlights three “must see” items in Grant Park, depending on your tastes, you can spend a couple of hours or a good part of the day strolling the area. Given Grant Park’s proximity to Millennium Park, you may want to combine the Grant Park Tour with our Millennium Park Tour.
