St. Michael Church
Eugenie at Cleveland Avenue
Continue walking west on Eugenie to St. Michael Church, which has been serving parishioners since 1852. Largely destroyed by the Great Chicago Fire in 1871 and quickly re-built, this massive Romanesque church started as a German parish. The stained glass windows were imported from Munich in the late 1800's. They say if you can here the bells of St. Michael's, you know you're in Old Town.
The doors are usually open during the day. If open, walk inside and take a look.
