Brighten up your autumn evenings with a visit to China Lights on the grounds of Boerner Botanical Gardens. China Lights is an event that celebrates the art, skill, and beauty of traditional Chinese lantern festivals that have been celebrated for the last 400 years.

Join us at China Lights 2024 to celebrate Year of the Dragon with more than 40 larger-than-life light displays!

The Dragon King, flower tunnel, and zodiac lanterns are just some of the highlights of this year’s event. Visitors will see something different at every turn as they walk through the garden at night.
The festival also includes stage performances, a marketplace, dining areas, and vendors offering a variety of Asian and Western menu options.

Proceeds from China Lights ticket sales will go back into Milwaukee County Parks' Boerner Botanical Gardens.

September 13 - November 2, Tuesdays - Sundays, 5:00pm - 10:00pm. Closed Mondays. To create a safe and pleasant environment for all visitors, we recommend purchasing tickets online in advance. A limited number of tickets will be available at the box office each night, but the box office may close early if the festival exceeds its capacity limit on the night. Onsite box office is open nightly at 5:00pm – 9:00pm. General Admission $35 walk-up, $23 online, $28 online on Friday and Saturday; Children (3 - 11) $20 walk-up, $16 online, $18 online on Friday and Saturday; Children (under 3) FREE.
