East Town Tour
Before becoming the unified city of Milwaukee in 1846, the area east of the Milwaukee River was known as Juneautown, named after its fur-trader founder Solomon Juneau. Today, East Town is a vibrant downtown neighborhood with plenty of dining, nightlife, theaters and museums. It includes the downtown area east of the Miwaukee River to Lake Michigan (with easy access to Milwaukee's stunning lakefront), and from Ogden Avenue on the north to Clybourn Street on the south (bordering the historic Third Ward).
During our East Town tour, you'll visit Milwaukee's iconic city hall, Pabst Theater, a grand Cathedral, the old Blatz brewery buildings and much more. After taking the tour, you'll understand why Milwaukee is such an enjoyable city to explore.
The tour length is approximately 1.1 miles, and can be walked within an hour. However, take your time and enjoy the sights of the neighborhood!
