Before reaching 6th Street, you'll pass the Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) on your right. MATC is a two-year vocational-technical college offering accredited associate degrees, vocational licenses and job training certificates.
When you reach 6th Street, cross the street. On your left is the new Fiserv Forum, a multi-purpose arena which replaced the Bradley Center (which was located just to the south). Opened on August 26, 2018 and costing over $500M, Fiserv Forum is a state-of-the-art facility and the new home to the Milwaukee Bucks of the NBA (National Basketball Association) and Marquette University's men's basketball team. With seating for 17,500, Fiserv Forum also hosts various concerts and special events throughout the year. The first live event at Fiserv Forum was a music concert featuring The Killers and the Violent Femmes on September 4, 2018.
If you continue east down Highland Avenue (along the south side of Fiserv Forum) you'll come upon Fiserv Forum's entertainment plaza called the Deer District. This area has quickly become a popular nightlife and entertainment destination, with several bars and restaurants. It also is a favorite gathering spot before and after games and concerts.
If you're curious about the arena's name, Fiserv, Inc. provides financial services technology to banks, thrifts, credit unions and others, and they bought the naming rights for 25 years.
If you headed to the plaza, trace your steps back to 6th Street, then continue south along 6th. Cross State Street and continue walking south on 6th Street to Kilbourn Avenue.
