As you head north on Wells Street, be sure to make a quick stop at West Burton Place. This short block was once home to a series of adjacent Victorian homes. Beginning in 1927 and lasting for about 10 years, Sol Kogen (an architect) and Edgar Miller (an artist) renovated these structures into an eclectic and interconnected set of apartments. Notice how broken ceramic, tiles, marble, glass and other materials from nearby demolished buildings and junkyards were incorporated into the construction. The interiors of the building are equally unique, with some units spanning multiple floors and containing winding, uneven steps.
