Continue north on Wells Street. If you are interested learning more about Chicago in a fun and interactive way, head east on North Avenue (two blocks) to Clark Street. On the northeast corner of North and Clark Streets you'll find the Chicago History Museum. The Chicago Historical Society was founded in 1856, and this impactful museum contains a wealth of information and fascinating exhibits on such things as Chicago's early settlers, the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, the Democratic Convention (and riots) of 1968 and Abraham Lincoln's presidency.
