Schlitz Park (Optional)
1500 N. Rivercenter Dr.
Stops #5 and #6 are for those who really enjoy walking and would like to see a less traveled and a bit quieter side of the RiverWalk. Continuing north along the RiverWalk to Stops #5 and #6, and then retracing your steps back to this spot, will add approximately 1.7 miles (0.85 miles each way) to your walk. Of course, you can turn back at any time. Take a look at the descriptions to see if you're interested. For those not interested, please skip to Stop #7 on the tour.
Continue north along the RiverWalk. As you move north, you will notice the RiverWalk takes on a different feel. Gone are the numerous bars and restaurants. Instead you'll find more commercial and (further on) residential establishments.
One of the first large complexes you'll see is the riverside headquarters of Manpower Group. ManpowerGroup, a world leader in workforce solutions (temp and permanent staffing, talent management, talent development, etc.) has grown from one office in Milwaukee in 1948 to an approximate $20 billion business that works with 400,000 clients each year.
Continue past Manpower Group to Cherry Street. Here you'll see the large archways into Schlitz Park. Jog a bit to your right to regain the RiverWalk along the Milwaukee River. As you move north, you can see Schlitz Park. Formery the site of the Schlitz Brewery, the area has been converted into an office park. Notice the creme colored brick buildings...a distinctive local brick, hence Milwaukee's nickname of Creme City. Otherwise, there is not much to see on the grounds of Schlitz Park.
Continue north along the RiverWalk and cross Pleasant Street to our next stop, Brewers Hill and Beerline "B".
